Reason Behind Desire:
I know that ever since Audrey Hepburn sported her black shift dress on "Breakfast At Tiffany's" in the early 1940's/50's, the "little black dress" became a staple for style to come and a wardrobe essential. Magazines and fashion sections in news and TV rave about how versatile it is.
Well, I have one. It's fantastic, and I wore it to my Senior yearbook picture.
So if black is soo amazing...why not white?
I originally thought that white just made everybody look fat and it was just tacky. Here's the motivation behind the change of heart:
First of all, I was hanging out at WalMart with my mother and my sister and when I get bored I grab one of the magazines by the checkout and read it. So I opened up Glamour, because it's got some pretty awesome ideas that are more sophisticated than the teen fashion magazines next to it, but still in a affordable range. So I finally got to the Summer photo spread section where it talked about Summer staples and they showed this very long white eyelet dress. Normally I don't go for eyelet, white, or maxi but the combination was awesome! And that's when I knew.
But here's some other reasons to back it up:
1. Indiana Jones and The Raiders of the Lost Ark. This legitimately backed up my motivation because she was running through the jungle/desert in this elegant number and it reminded me of the good old movie days where women actually had real figures, were more naturally beautiful than some of the chicas sporting modern movies, and the sentimental nostalgia to the romantic epic old school movie days. Not to mention she looked awesome running through the desert in a dress, as battered as it was.

2. Gossip Girl. It's that show where I could care less to watch it because of all the sexuality, the lack of unique character development (it's got character development, don't get me wrong, but not enough truly quirkiness that I like), and a very unstructured fairly predictable plot. But who cares!?! The clothes are amazing and the guys are hot. Hard to deny. I tend to lean towards Serena's style because I'm more comfy casual, but Blair's eyelet white dress and black textured tights were sensational. :)

3rd and 4th: Random website pictures I found to show that the white dress is versatile (I.E. the "Bohemian" one) and that it still looks fashion-forward without being immodest.

So how am I getting one? Well, with the assistance of the amazing seamstress mother- I'm sewing it. And it's going to be sooooooooo good. :)
Well, I could put more pictures I found on, but this is good enough for now.
Keep stylin.
